Join us for a special evening of conversation and personal insight into the life and art of famous American artist and illustrator Norman Rockwell. Abigail Rockwell, Rockwell’s granddaughter, has been deemed, along with her father Thomas Rockwell, one of the few legitimate Rockwell scholars in the world, and recognized as such by Sotheby’s and the National Museum of American Illustration. Ms. Rockwell is also editor and author of the recently re-released Norman Rockwell autobiography, My Adventures as an Illustrator: The Definitive Edition, a book originally published in 1960 and ghostwritten by her father, Thomas. Back in print, the book features restored text and drawings, new illustrations, and an 11-page introduction written by Ms. Rockwell which provides new information on her grandfather’s life and work. This program includes a reception and opportunity to view privately the Museum’s Norman Rockwell’s: America exhibit and time to converse informally with Ms. Rockwell, as well as a book-signing with her at the conclusion of her talk. *Copies of the book My Adventures as an illustrator: The Definitive Edition, will be available for purchase at this program.
