Join historian and author Catharine Melin-Moser as she discusses her book When Montana Outraced the East: The Reign of Western Thoroughbreds, 1886-1900. Her talk explores the late 19th century golden age of the Montana Thoroughbred industry, when Montana horses won some of the biggest prizes in American horse racing, confounding national sportswriters and threatening to reshape the balance of power within America's oldest sport. Catharine will expand her talk to include the significance/influence of the City of Spokane during this time.

Book signing available after the talk. The Museum Store will have limited number available for purchase.
