Professional photographer L.B. Jefferies "Jeff" breaks his leg on a shoot. Confined to a wheelchair, Jefferies passes the time by observing his neighbors out the rear window of his New York apartment. His hobby leads him to notice a pattern that one of his neighbors might have murdered his wife, and he organizes a personal investigation to find the truth.
