About the Program: Shaun Higgins, KSPS "Saturday Night Cinema" host, curates a four-film series for you to enjoy every third Thursday. He'll introduce the film and provide fun tidbits about the film, the director, and the actors. After the film he'll have final remarks and open it to the audience for final thoughts.

In this series watch award-winning international films from countries like Japan, Australia, and more - all inspired by the pavilions of Spokane's Expo '74!

July Film: The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser (West Germany, 1974)

Werner Herzog's film is based upon the true and mysterious story of Kaspar Hauser, a young man who suddenly appeared in Nuremberg in 1828, barely able to talk or walk, and bearing a strange note; he later explained that he had been held captive in a dungeon for his entire life, and only recently was released for reasons unknown. His benefactor attempts to integrate him into society, with intriguing results.

German with English subtitles, run time: 1 hr, 50 mins
