Learn how to sketch and paint birds during
this hands-on watercolor workshop,open to adults of all artistic abilities, from respected Seattle artist Molly Hashimoto. You’ll use pencil, watercolor and pens and
get inspiration to create by viewing images of a kingfisher on toned paper and scrub jay
on white paper. All supplies required to participate in the workshop are included.
Molly Hashimoto is an award-winning illustrator, print maker and painter. In that time, she has filled more than 40 sketchbooks with landscapes,
vignettes, studies of flora and fauna, and natural history notes—all created
while visiting some of the West’s most stunning landscapes. Her paintings and prints have been
published as note cards, holiday cards, calendars, and gift books.
Besides being a working artist, Molly is a
longtime teacher, and the author of the just-released book Birds of the West: An Artist’s Guide. She also wrote and
illustrated Colors of the West: An

Come early and visit
the museum's exhibition galleries before the workshop (Museum hours are 10 am to 5 pm) and/or purchase a coffee and something to eat from the Museum's Café MAC. Or, make plans to stay after the
workshop to enjoy lunch. *Café MAC will be open 11 am to 2 pm.
